Director Spotlight

ARTISTdirect News is running an article on Peter Berg, who’s set to direct Virtuality’s pilot episode. From the article…

“And it looks like there are nothing but good things on Berg’s horizon. He’s in pre-production on a sci-fi show for the small screen called Virtuality with Ronald Moore. If you don’t know who Ronald Moore is, then you must not be watching Battlestar Galactica, the best show on pay cable since Shawn Ryan stopped writing The Shield. A mistake easily remedied through Blockbuster, Netflix or TiVo. Berg and Moore will form like Voltron into a massive entity of awesomeness when they bring to life the tale of a deep space crew of explorers who use virtual reality modules to pass the time until a diabolical glitch in the system ruins the party.”

Anyone else think he looks a little like GOB Bluth? The article can be found here.

Periodic Update #3

SciFi Wire has posted a video of the entire BSG Comic Con panel right here.

Tote bags, eh?

It looks like Comic Con didn’t pass us by without any Virtuality rumblings. Apparently, Phaeton tote bags were being handed out at a few of the panels. TPTB trying to whet our appetites, perhaps? A picture of what the bags look like below…

All we can say is, hit us again, Ike! Thanks to reader Katherine for the tip!

Periodic Update #2

More coverage from yesterday’s Battlestar Galactica panel from Zap2it, The Watcher, and Slashfilm’s description of the season 4.5 trailer.

Also, a few videos from the Con…

As for Virtuality, unfortunately nothing new was offered at TV Guide’s Hot List panel. You can read a brief rundown of things here.

Periodic Update #1

From what I’ve read, Comic Con’s Battlestar Galactica panel was a lot of fun. A few sites were providing running commentary. Here are a few links…

TV Guide’s panel with Ron Moore should be starting soon, so we’ll bring you another update as soon as we get some info.

It begins…

Tonight marks the beginning of that massive nerd wetdream we call Comic-Con. On Saturday, Ron Moore will be attending a couple of panels, plugging Battlestar, Caprica and Virtuality.

  • 2:15-3:15pm – Battlestar Galactica: Last year, Battlestar Galactica took San Diego by storm. Now the best show on television returns to Comic-Con for a panel filled with excitement, laughter, and a sneak peek into the final revelation. Focusing on the character relationships that give this hit series its power, this exclusive panel sheds new light on the ties between Humans and Cylons and provides valuable insight into the adventure ahead. Panelists include cast members Tricia Helfer, James Callis, Michael Trucco, and Katee Sackhoff and executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, along with moderator Kevin Smith. Ballroom 20.
  • 6:00-7:00pm – TV Guide takes an in-depth look at some of the new and returning TV series, featuring the hottest TV talent—in front of the camera and behind the scenes. TV Guide executive editor Craig Tomashoff moderates this panel offering the inside scoop, with some fun surprises. Participants include (in alphabetical order) Josh Applebaum (executive producer, Life on Mars), Jaimie Alexander (Kyle XY), Matt Dallas (Kyle XY), Javier Grillo-Marxuach (creator, The Middleman), Ronald Moore (executive producer, Virtuality), Natalie Morales (The Middleman), Jason O’Mara (Life on Mars), and Jason Smilovic (executive producer, My Own Worst Enemy), among other special guests. Room 6B.

We’ll bring you periodic updates over the long weekend. For more coverage, we recommend Galactica Sitrep.
